True happiness is not a mood; it is a state of being. In turn, artistic creation is not an object; it is an experience.

I've always been drawn to color, particularly as an expression of emotion. The colors and their movement on the canvas evoke the form of the work. I focus and center my energy, and allow my imagination to take over.

I work with acrylics mostly, as they dry quickly, enabling me to capture a moment and articulate a singular emotional experience. I typically add an acrylic gloss medium to facilitate blending.

I also use a variety of tools - brushes, palette knives, brayers, sponges, even a tree branch or hairbrush - which offer greater variance of impact and texture.
